Description of Failure:
On March 9, 2026, beginning at approximately 16:04 UTC, Aeris Global Services experienced a service interruption affecting data session establishment and overall session stability for 2G, 3G, and 4G services across the UK, European, and African markets. Additionally, a limited degradation of Global Service sessions was observed in the United States market. The Aeris engineering team declared an incident and initiated an internal troubleshooting bridge, with service restored after approximately 1 hour and 25 minutes.
Impairment Cause:
The incident was caused by human error during a planned network maintenance activity (IOTCHG-8581), during which an incorrect configuration was inadvertently applied to a critical network node.
Impairment Resolution:
The impairment was resolved by change rollback.
